Yesterday we drove past the Lindenow South Primary School about 10.30
am. Two long-tailed Lorikeets flew towards us - largely bright green
but too large and stout for Musks, and no red head-markings. Some yellow
trimming on body as they turned parallel to the car. About Rainbow 'Keet
size.
Definitely Scaly-breasted Lorikeets (I've seen plenty in Brisbane). What are they doing in Gippsland in mainly cleared farming country with some big Red Gums near the school. Aviary escapees?
