Dear all

Today, a juvenile White-tailed Tropicbird was found at Stratford, near a
fish farm (I have to find out the exact spot it was found), and delivered at
midday to one of Gloucester's animal carers. She didn't know what it was so
phoned me, and it is a very healthy (without doing a thorough vet-like
search) feisty young WTTB, with good breast muscles, no signs of damage to
wings and very sharp eyes and a very loud voice.

Tomorrow it goes with National Parks people to Port Macquarie to a seabird
carer.

Is this a first appearance of a WTTB in Gloucester, mid-north coast but over
100k inland from the sea?

We have had a couple of violent brief rain/thunder storms from the NE,
Monday night 46ml rain , and another 48 or so over the weekend. And more
this afternoon.
