Hi all,
Thanks to those who voiced their concerns.
In suburban Townsville we have been bunkered down for 15 hours and around me in
Kirwan, mainly trees down all round us. The good news is,at first light the
Peaceful Doves and Mudlarks were feeding amongst the debris on the ground and I
just saw a White-gaped Honeyeater feeding in a "lipstick' plant. Hanging on in
100 kmh gusts but otherwise moving freely. Also Common Mynah & House Sparrow
seem unperturbed.
Contact with other birders in NQ will be difficult for a while with major power
outages and mobile towers either damaged or without power.
Cheers
Ivor Preston
