Well, the cyclone Yasi show is about to kick off with first big gusts coming through at Kuranda, but looking off our newly cleared veranda and making a final check we'd cleared as much as we can, there was a Noisy Pitta foraging in the wet soil and a juv Orange-footed Scrubfowl nearby. The male Cassowary and his 3 chicks went by a couple of hours ago, I really hope they can find a sheltered spot, fingers crossed.
