Wedge-tailed Eagle
Hall St Ridgeway
At about 1pm there was an inordinatelly aloud of plover cries. Looking out of the window, a juvenile Wedge-tailed Eagle had captured a young plover on the ground and was warding off repeated plover attacks. A short time later the eagle flew into a large Eucalypt. Shortly after a large adult w.t.e. flew into the same tree, followed by another. Soon after the three of them flew off in a southerly direction towards Kingston. At 6:25 the juvenile came back to where it had taken the dead plover. It proceeded to demolish what was left it and flew off to the neighbouring paddock with the rest of the plover in its talons.
