Location: Blowhole Creek Beach, Deep Creek Conservation Park

Eastern Reef Egret (Egretta sacra) (1) Single dark phase bird flew in landing 
on beach where it rested for several minutes before taking flight and departing 
area after walking person got too close.

Location: Fox's Lake, Robe

Latham's Snipe (Gallinago hardwickii) (15) Large number of this bird species 
given the relatively small nature of the lake. Sheltering in samphire.

Location: Dry Creek Salt Fields AP

Terek Sandpiper (Xenus cinereus) (1) One bird feeding alone out on mudflats off 
main causeway.

Banded Stilt (Cladorhynchus leucocephalus) (1) Around 200 immature birds in a 
tight flock on main east/west causeway.

Common Sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos) (1) Single birds present at both track 
bridges.

Location: Telford Scrub Conservation Park

Satin Flycatcher (Myiagra cyanoleuca) (2) Pair seen in woodland along the track 
leading from the carpark on the southern side of the reserve. Regularly 
calling. They were seeing-off a brown goshawk.

Crested Shrike-tit (Falcunculus frontatus) (5) One pair seen feeding a young 
bird near the picnic table a few hundred metres in from the southern entrance. 
Remainder of birds seen further into reserve.

White-bellied Cuckoo-shrike (Coracina papuensis) (1) Heard and seen near 
boardwalk, as was the species roughly a week earlier by ND.

Location: Pt Gawler Conservation Park

Eastern Curlew (Numenius madagascariensis) (3) Seen feeding in the samphire 
near the mangroves at the northern end of the park.

Grey Plover (Pluvialis squatarola) (1) Seen next to the Eastern Curlews.

Marsh Sandpiper (Tringa stagnatilis) (1) Seen in one of the channels close to 
the road.

Location: Greenfield Wetlands

Royal Spoonbill (Platalea regia) (1) One found, feeding in the pond near the 
information next to the road.

Black-winged Stilt (Himantopus himantopus) (10) Few adults and chicks were 
found, feeding in the pond near the information next to the road and the others 
ponds.

Australian Ringneck (Barnardius zonarius) (1) Actually the Mallee Ringneck 
variant with an orange belly patch.

Sacred Kingfisher (Todiramphus sanctus) (1) Common in this area.

Location: Sturt Bay, SYP.

Eastern Curlew (Numenius madagascariensis) (1) 

Hooded Plover (Charadrius rubricollis) (1) 

The broad beach ofSturt Bay, bottom of Southern Yorke Peninsular, not a bird to 
be seen in binocular range, then to my surprise an Eastern Curlew flew past.  
Soon down on the beach one Hooded Plover.  He was no surprise just enjoyable.

Location: Richmore Road Wetland, Angas Plains

Wood Sandpiper (Tringa glareola) (2) 2 individuals feeding on mudflats close to 
the road.

This site is about 4 km east of Milang.This wetland and the surrounding 
paddocks fill with water when the Angas River floods.The wetland still contains 
much water and mudflats are becoming exposed providing good conditions for 
waders.Some other birds present were 20+Red-necked Stints,Pied Stilts with 
young,and large numbers of Shellducks.

flew off then landed again further away.

Location: Milang-Clayton road, near Kindarua property sign, in shallow 
water/swampy ground.

Nankeen Night Heron (Nycticorax caledonicus) (1) Bird foraging in vegetation, 
showing white plume behind head and occasionally flying around displaying broad 
rufous wings.

White-fronted Chat (Epthianura albifrons) (2) Perching on higher fronds of 
vegetation,

Intermediate Egret (Mesophoyx intermedia) (10) Large group of ten counted in 
shallow water/swamp land.

Location: East side of Kow Swamp 6km Sth of Leitchville township

Spotted Harrier (Circus assimilis) (1) Papuan Harrier (Circus spilonotus). I 
couldn't find Papuan Harrier in the data base so I called it a Spotted Harrier 
so at least I could get it to someone who is interested in this rare find. I 
have the photo of this magnificent raptor and I am willing to share it . Please 
contact me.

I captured this Papuan Harrier with a 500mm lens at Kow Swamp 6km from 
Leitchville. According to the field guides this is a very rare occasion. There 
doesn't appear to be a section to display the photograph which I would gladly 
share.
