There were some good birds in the Wanganella area of NSW on Friday and
Saturday, such as three freckled ducks (on private property), three
red-chested buttonquails on the TSR (a male and two females), two wandering
whistling-ducks and three Australian painted snipes (two males and a female)
at Wanganella swamp; a painted snipe¹s nest with four eggs was located. We
are also witnessing in the Wang¹ area the best plains-wanderer breeding
event in thirty years.
