Not relevant and I apologise. But I can't resist:
Some years ago, a Pied Butcherbird 'shouted' me lunch at the Colmslie Hotel
(Morningside, Brisbane). My wife got out of the car at the hotel entrance,
and I then parked the car. Walking back, and Butch attacked from behind and
drew blood. (Had a young one in the garden.) Mate joined in, but once I
knew they were there they couldn't lay a beak on me. (But nor could I lay a
fist on them!)
When I came to pay for our meal, the hotel insisted that they would not
accept any payment. They knew the baby butcherbird was in garden and that
the parents sometimes attacked, but they didn't want to chase the baby.
Cheers
Syd
