Not sure Bob. According to the interview Bob, in his usual sardonically
humorous way, he suggested that he was more likely to eat birds than watch
them, and that as a child he liked to get up close and personal with birds -
using a slug gun. Although, having discussed this issue with him a few times
before, he was clearly taking the mickey, and is actually quite scientifically
minded.

Cheers,

Tim

plese no - no time to listen to the interview yet but is Red a birder - or
wannabe - another example of birding is the "new golf"?

Hi all,

This is just a reminder that the Victorian Twitchathon will be held on the
weekend of the 6th and 7th of November, 2010. Anyone participating in Victoria
should submit their registration form to me, by post or email. The major prizes
are books donated by Andrew Isles Natural History Books and a weekend for 2 to
the 2011 Australian Birdfair. Remember too that the Twitch is a fund raising
exercise - this year funds are being raised for Orange-bellied Parrot survey
work.

This week I conducted an interview with Red Symons on his breakfast show. You
can find a copy of the interview at http://kiwi6.com/file?id=4kqhwehyvb -
select download file. It goes for about 10 minutes, and is good fun. Let me
know if you have problems downloading it and I'll send as an attachment instead.

Happy birding,

Tim
