Not strictly true. Some apps, like Birdsight AU do run, but images on iPad are 
pixellated because it dies not handle larger screen properly. This is true of 
quite a few apps.

Also, AppStore specifically states that Morcombe app is only for iPhone and 
iPod touch - not iPad or smaller iPods.

On the AppStore iPad apps are always indicated by a + sign.
