Have just returned from Mackay after successfully seeing the EH. Saw two around .5 km along Diggings Road as has been previously reported. Didn't go up Dalrymple Road.

I was informed that Eungella Honeyeaters occur at the Broken River Mountain Retreat where we stayed when the Calistemons are in peak flower, about 2 weeks ago.

Great place to stay. Platypus and turtles were easy to see in the river as well as a suspected Taipan along one of the walking tracks. My wife Julie nearly stepped on it. Neither were particularly happy about the experience.

Happy birding.
