Buff-breasted Paradise- Kingfisher Kingfisher Park Birdwatchers Lodge, Julatten, QLD
At least three calling in the dawn chorus. This is the earliest record going back to 1994 they have arrived. The previous earliest was 19th October 2007. One was reported from Mission Beach on 14th and another from Jindalba Boardwalk (across the Daintree River on the way to Cape Tribulation) on 15th October 2010. Also reported south of Cairns on 16th from Kirrima in the ranges behind Cardwell.

Thu 14 Oct Asian Dowitcher Cairns Esplanade
One individual roosting with godwits and knots at high tide (around 2pm) at the northern end of the esplanade. I couldn't relocate it today (15th). There was also a single Radjah Shelduck present on the freshwater Centenary Lake today.

Mon 11 Oct House Crow Flying Fish Point, Innisfail
Yesterday afternoon I saw a lone House Crow at Flying Fish Point Innisfail in Far North Queensland. Interestingly this is about 30 km north of Mourilyan Harbour where international shipping docks to load raw sugar.
