On 14/10 I saw what I think were an Arctic Tern and a Common Tern at Ricketts Point.

This follows Chris Doughty's record on one of each on Monday and Kim Croker's great pics of one of each on Wednesday.

All these sightings were in the afternoon but an Arctic Tern was also seen there on Wednesday morning "near the shipping beacon".

Perhaps that refers to the white triangle at the most southerly shore rock platform (that actually links to another triangle inland and another pair at Quiet Corner to mark a measured nautical mile).

Please take care if you go on to the rock platforms as the saltmarsh vegetation is easily trampled. And you could flush shorebirds as there were eight stints there on Wednesday and one or two turnstones on Thursday.
