Birdline Central & Southern Queensland

Published sightings for the week ending 3 Oct 2010.

Sat 2 Oct Grey Goshawk Cedar Creek Road, Cedar Creek
Third sighting since late August 2010, this time Grey Goshawk was sitting in a tree near my house being attacked by magpies which are nesting behind my house. After a few minutes it flew closer to the nest at which time the magpies increased their attack and goshawk quickly flew to the safety of the next clump of trees about 200metres away. All baby magpies still safe in nest and must be close to fledging - nest is crowded.
