Hello,
I'm an American who is planning his fifth birding trip to Australia,
scheduled for October and November of this year. I plan to stay in Werribee,
Victoria for five nights, arriving on Saturday afternoon or evening, 13
November, and departing on Thursday morning, 18 November.
The Western Treatment Plant is one of my favorite birding sites in
Australia, and I am in the process of figuring out how to get access. I will
probably apply for a permit, if foreigners can get one, but first I thought I
would see if I could find someone with a permit who was willing to take me
there. I will have a car and would be happy to drive, if that helps.
It is still fairly far in advance, I know, but the days I would be
available and eager to visit the WTP would be Sunday, 14 November; Monday, 15
November; or Wednesday, 17 November. I would love to go there on any or all
of
those days, if I can get access. Even if you aren't sure of your schedule
this far in advance, if you are interested, please let me know. If I
don't get booked up first, I will probably put up another post in early
November, when people will probably have a better idea of their schedules.
You can see the itinerary of my entire trip on my website, at
_http://www.barry15.com/2010_Australia_Trip/_
(http://www.barry15.com/2010_Australia_Trip/) . Once the trip commences, I
plan to put links to pictures and
commentary on that same page.
Because of all the rain, it sounds like it is going to be a great year to
be visiting some of the inland areas of NSW, Victoria, and SA, and I am
really looking forward to the trip.
