White-throated Nightjars

Hi All,
I live in the Bend of Islands, 33k ne of Melbourne.'
For the last 15 years I have been recording the date that I first hear the call of the White-throated Nightjar, along with the other 'Spring Arrivals', for our area.

Of the 15 WTN records, 5 are on or before 10/10; with 2/10/06, 4/10/09, 8/10/02, 10/10/03 & 10/10/96. The accuracy of my records improved in 2002 when I retired and resided full time in the bush. The latest record since then is 23/10/05.

The 'date of arrival' vs the 'date I first hear a call' is, of course, not strictly correlated.

Cheers

Frank Pierce
