Gee Carol,
You are really rubbing in the fact that we chose WA this year instead of staying home in wonderful rain-fed NSW. I know my birding skills have a long way to go, but try as I might, I didn't find a Spinifexbird in three months in the Pilbara. Watching Flock Bronzewings in flight would be as breathtaking as a large flock of Princess Parrots. However we have now reached the South-west, after an excellent beginning at Dryandra Woodland where, the Rufous Treecreepers, Red- capped Parrots and Western Rosellas were so obliging. We arrived in a little caravan park in Cranfield late yesterday afternoon and a flock of six Regent Parrots flew into a nearby gum tree and remained for good views. We will reach Cheyne Beach in a couple of days and I am really looking forward to woodland birds.
cheers
Julie Neumann
