Hi All

On 11 July 2010 a friend of mine (Josh Berris) observed a single Brolga on
Kangaroo Island, SA. It was in farmland near the Cygnet River Mouth, c 7 km
WSW of the main town of Kingscote. This is a very rare species on KI. It was
first reported by Mellor in the early 1900s - one in roughly the same
location as this current one. Other than that, no other observations except
for an unconfirmed report of two others on a farm dam on KI N coast earlier
this year. I am still chasing that one up!

Cheers

Chris Baxter
