Hi all

Long time reader, first time poster.

Finally had a chance to get to Noosa. The Hooded Plover is still present in the
north shore spit area along with a flock of Double banded Plover and 2 Beach
Stone-Curlew, despite the amount of disturbance. Over 2 hours I counted 6
vehicles driving along the spit, 3 dogs off leash, 2 jet skis buzzing the
shallows along with a fair amount of foot traffic, the birds unsurprisingly
were flighty so visiting during the week if possible might produce better views.

Speaking to one of the locals the council has previously enforced restrictions
on the spit vigorously (he said they used to get dozens of vehicles using it).
Does the council still patrol? Is there anyone that can be contacted re
infringements?
