Interesting morning at the sewage ponds in Alice Springs this morning.

First up I came across two juvenile Nankeen Night-herons right out in the
open. They let me approach quite close. Both were still fairly young but had
well developed plumage, but still missing the dark cap. I believe these are
quite unusual in the centre but we've had some stormy weather so maybe they
are blow-ins. No sign of any adults around.

Also, three Black-tailed Godwits and four Wood Sandpipers foraging among the
Black-winged Stilts.

All morning it has been alternating from steady drizzle to heavier rain.
It's only getting wetter out here in the desert.
