Published sightings for the week ending 25 Jul 2010.

Sat 24 Jul      Gouldian Finch, Purple Crowned Fairy Wren Timber Creek 
We found 11 Gouldian Finches (including 6 uncoloured birds) at a leaking
tap near the creek on the Heritage Walk,Timber Creek. There were also
several Purple Crowned Fairy Wrens in the Canegrass at the nearby
Bradshaw Bridge.

Mon 19 Jul      Channel-billed Cuckoo Fogg Dam 
Heard only, quite distinctive. Also seen were Rainbow Pitta,
Bar-breasted Honeyeater, Brush Cuckoo, White-browed Crake and a range of
waterbirds.

        Gouldian Finch Bird Billabong, Mary River NP (proposed) 
A group of about 20 having a midday siesta near the track. Also seen
were a Black-tailed Treecreeper and Glossy Ibis. This is a very rich
place in terms of birdlife, and is well worthy of National Park status.

Sun 18 Jul      Hooded Parrot Fergusson River 
At least 50 Hooded Parrots active in the area. No Gouldian Finches seen.

Sat 17 Jul      Hooded Parrot, Gouldian Finch Chinamans Creek, Katherine
region 
Gouldians in a flock of about 50+ and Hooded Parrots 10+. Also observed
Long-tailed Finches, Masked Finches, Red-backed Fairy-wren.

Thu 15 Jul      Mangrove Golden Whistler Berry Springs 
Female seen alongside Shining Flycatcher, Arafura Fantail and Black
Butcherbird.

Flying over at dusk.
