As I was walking down the street behind my house (in the southern suburbs of Brisbane) this afternoon, Rob Dougherty called out that he had just seen a Wompoo. We chatted for a few minutes, and then an obviously lost Wompoo appeared and perched nicely out in the open [ignoring the attentions of a group of Noisy Miners]. It is certainly interesting the range of species that turn up in metropolitan areas, well away from their preferred habitat ...
