Petrels, 1 Black-browed (imm) and 1 Yellow-nosed Albatross, Wilson's
Storm Petrel, Fluttering Shearwaters, 10-15 Fairy Prions, Australian
Gannets.

Hooded Plover Noosa North Shore
An update on the Hooded Plover. Still present and easy to find today on
the north shore. Originally reported about 4 weeks ago.

Sat 10 Jul Yellow-nosed Albatross Point Lookout, North Stradbroke
Island
20 birds flew south during the day - none were seen to go north again
and assumed different individuals. One sadly was trailing a length of
fishing line. Also throughout the course of the day - 3 prion sp
(distant but probably Fairy), 1 Bridled/Sooty Tern (ad distantly), 1
Arctic Skua (ad), 3 Giant petrel sp. (inc one very close Northern), 15+
Fluttering Shearwater types, 10+ Common Noddy and many Gannet. Also 60
Humpbacks north throughout the day.

Good afternoon seawatch with at least 15 Yellow-nosed and 1 Black-browed
Albatross,2 Giant Petrel sp,15 Prions including a definite Fairy close
in,10+ Common Noddies,5 Fluttering Shearwaters and lots of Gannets. At
Dunwich on way back 2 Musk Lorikeets seen whilst waiting for Ferry.

Grassbird (heard only) in small man made wetland opposite Australian
Fair/Griffith University - calling regularly despite the traffic of many
thousands of people, music, helicopters etc for the gold coast marathon.
Thornbills (pair) in she-oaks slightly further to the north in same park
(up to caravan park)

Yellow-nosed Albatross: Afternoon between 15.00 and 17.00 (4). Brown
Booby: 9.00 - 10.00 (1). Fairy Prion: Difficult to count, 2 kms off
shore, except 1 definite Fairy P within 100m of the headland (10).

Gannet (50+)
