At Banyule Swamp (Heidelberg, Vic) - the four young Black Swans are now showing black wing-feathers. They seem to have been exiled to the south end, away from their parents. The old birds are by the old nest; one was adding plant material to it, at one point standing on it and reaching down to pull a bundle of brown plant stems up onto the rim. The nest is now very high. I have not heard of Black Swans attempting a second nesting after rearing a first brood.
