Bird still present this afternoon on sandbanks opposite Noosa Woods
carpark at high tide.No sign of the sterna Tern sp though,also tried a
few sites at Caloundra without success.

Single seen quartering over trees near our property. Seen fairly
regularly during June. Possibly nesting in area?

Up to 5 birds seen over property, flying fast in an easterly direction.
Initially observed by approaching distinct call.

10 birds present, also c30 Double Banded Plover.

Tue 15 Jun Possible Arctic Tern, Hooded Plover Noosa
A possible Arctic Tern in breeding plumage were seen during the course
of regular shorebird surveys of the Noosa estuary on Tuesday, June 15.
Also juvenile Hooded Plover. The plover was seen in several places in
the smallish estuary on Tuesday and Wednesday. It moved around with the
tide changes. There is a free public telescope mounted at the end
carpark at Noosa Woods, which is accessed through Hastings Street. (See
Bob Inglis photographs in further information).

2 Comb-crested Jacanas at the southern end of Mick Hanling Park sighted
around 11.00 am

Mon 14 Jun Rufous Fantail Mill Road, Moggill State Forest, Anstead
At least two birds present - though three separate sightings in half an
hour at a waterhole along the creek, making a possible four birds. Some
discussion recently on birding-aus about whether this species
overwinters in SE Queensland

about overwintering rufous fantails, so this may be of interest.

Spotted Whistling-Duck (2 + 10 ducklings) on lagoon on Coen River in
front of old Rokeby Homestead, 100km NW of Coen.
