I'm always suprised how little discussion night parrots sightings seem to
get. I sometimes doubt the commitment of australian birders *stirs the
pot* ; )

Tim: Did Clive Curson have any information on surrounding vegetation, soil
type, terrian etc?

Here's some notes from 1990's cloncurry sightings that might get some
juices flowing, if these recent sightings dont:

Bob

I believe they still exist and am collecting as much information together
in
a file as I can to one day launch my own little search for them in an area
where they are likely to be found. Thanks for your blog.

Dear all,

Stimulated by the recent reports of sightings of the Night Parrot
*Pezoporus
occidentalis I have just posted a piece on my Crikey blog, the Northern
Myth
on those sighting and some more information on Aboriginal knowledge of the
bird from the tanami desert...

You can see the piece here:

Cheers and enjoy - please leave a comment if you have any views,
suggestions
etc etc.
