Hello All
As there will no doubt be many birding trips into the Corner Country
(north-western New South Wales, north-eastern South Australia and south-western
Queensland) over the coming months, I thought it might be a good idea to put
out a call to those that do travel to these areas to please keep everyone
informed on this forum as to the state of roads and birding conditions. It'll
come in handy for all those that follow, including a couple of mates and myself
in September.
For instance, personally, I would find it interesting to know of long-haired
rat explosions and any associated build up of Letter-winged Kite numbers. The
same goes for many of the other inland specialties; concentrations of Inland
Dotterels and Flock Bronzewings, etc. It would also be nice to learn how the
Eyrean and Grey Grasswrens are faring at their known sites, any new sites that
are proving to be "reliable", as well as those for chats and gibberbirds.
Hopefully, the rain events of earlier this year and late last year will be
enough to see all of them become "common" out there, at least for a time.
