Re the mouse-sized mammal near the Adelaide River bridge - from your brief
description I'd have a stab at Antechinus bellus.  Did you notice whether
the rim of the ear had a notch in it?   And can you give me any other
details - eg habitat, length of tail in relation to body size?

Michael and I are presently updating our book "Fauna of Kakadu and the Top
End", and we're interested in hearing of any mammal, reptile or amphibian
sightings.
