Hi all,
This afternoon I observed 3 Scarlet Honeyeaters in Killawarra Forest (north of
Wangaratta in North East Victoria)The birds were about 100m away from where I
saw a male last week on the 25/4/10.
One bird appeared to be a young male moulting in red plumage. The other two
birds female or immature.
The birds were feeding on Mugga Ironbark blossom or hawking for insects.
I was very surprised to see they were still around.
Michael Ramsey, Wilby, Vic.
