That would make the male a black koel miner (to be found in NSW and
Queensland), and the female a brown koel miner (to be found in Gippsland).

Personally, I think that we should sing the praises of Tony - Old King Koel
was a merry old soul.

Hello birders,

This may have been canvassed on birding-aus before, though I can't  
track it in the archives if it has, but what is the currently  
accepted English name of Eudynamys orientalis, the main species of  
Koel which occurs in Australia?
  Is it Eastern Koel , as per Christidis and Boles 2008, or has it  
morphed into Australian Koel?
