Birdline Tasmania
Published sightings for the week ending 11 Apr 2010.
Mon 5 Apr Wedge-tailed Eagle, Hardhead, Australasian Grebe. Lake
Dulverton (Oatlands)
A brief visit to the lake late this afternoon produced no real surprises
- but there were some higher numbers present than those normally seen -
Eurasian Coot: (350). Hardhead: (47). Australasian Grebe: (9).
Hoary-headed Grebe: (31). Also of interest were two Great Crested Grebe
and a Wedge-tailed Eagle seen circling overhead. Whilst passing the lake
earlier in the afternoon an adult White-bellied Sea-Eagle was seen
perched on a dead tree on the northern side of the lake.
