Dear all,

I lived on Heron Island for a short time over 40 years ago(1967-68 as a matter of fact) and I have watched turtles digging their nest holes and unearthing earlier laid eggs by the hundred. These eggs were usually eaten by birds as were many of the hatchlings as they scrambled to the water.
