I was under the impression that anting involves the bird sitting on the ground 
and allowing ants to crawl over it. Paul mention the bird actually picking them 
up and placing them on itself. Is that mentioned in the literature?

 It's interesting that something like this is apparently so difficult to study. 
It makes me wonder what else we don't know.
