Hi Peter,
We visited Cue late last October and stayed at Nallan Station, as suggested
by FOC. Chestnut-breasted Quail-thrush were common along the tracks east of
the station homestead, Western Bowerbird was in residence at the homestead,
we saw Slaty-backed Thornbills west of the homestead, Chiming Wedgebill at
FOC's Banded Whiteface site but dipped on Grey Honeyeater which we looked
for at multiple sites in the area and further south. See annotated list
below. You might want more than a day or two - it is a long drive!

Western Bowerbird Quite common from Payne's Find northwards. Bower at
homestead.
Torresian Crow Common from Wubin and further north
Little Crow Very common around Nallan Lake, Station and Cue, decreasing
towards Payne's Find. Not definitely seen south of Payne's Find
Australian Raven Gradually replace by crows. Not definitely seen north of Mt
Magnet
Zebra Finch Abundant from Payne's Find north
*Missed Birds*:
Orange Chat Tried at FOC's mentioned spots and at 26.95272 S, 117.58261 E on
a few occasions as they were seen in large numbers here in March this year
Stender-billed Thornbill Kept a look out for these in same samphire habitat
as the Orange chat
Grey Honeyeater Kept a look out for this species in all the reported spots
and used play-back but to no avail.

Hi all
It's likely I'll be heading to WA in a couple of months time and will have a
spare day or two, during which I thought I might look for Chestnut-breasted
Quail-thrush, Chiming Wedgebill, Grey Honeyeater, Slaty-backed Thornbill and
Western Bowerbird.
>From Frank O'Connor's website and a couple of tripreports in the B-A
archives it looks like the Cue - Mt Magnet area is my best bet for these
species. Unfortunately most of the information I've come across is 5 to 10
years old. Does anyone have any recent info on the area or other likely
sites where I might find these species?
