All take and no give you say, in 2009, 721,000 Victorian recreational
fisherman contributed $3.2 billion dollars to the state's economy. Though I
do agree with you on spear fishing.

I'm a birdo, hunter and fisherman. Hunting is restricted to Fox, feral cats
and rabbits (more people should be eating rabbit). I grew up with fishing
and it was my favorite pastime before birding took over. All fish I took
home ended up on the diner plate and was most welcomed for a low income
family.

The immorality of all fishing and hunting lies not just in the taking of
life and the cruelty, but in that it is all "take" and no give. These people
just want something for free, and it comes with satisfying their blood lust
at the same time. One of the worst of all must be spear fishing, where you
swim up to a slow moving, ancient fish and shoot it at point blank range
with a high powered spear, and this somehow makes you a hero.
