You can also get it as an app. for your iPhone / iPod Touch. It costs around USD 30.00

Hi Dick,

I think you will find that the best one is SASOL Birds of Southern Africa by Ian Sinclair, Phil Hockey and Warwick Tarboton published by Struik. It was the one recommended to us by Rockjumper Birding Tours - a very well known and competent company. We have used it twice and found it to be excellent.

Enjoy birding in Africa - it is great and so good that in May we intend to return to "do" Tanzania and Kenya.

Cheers,

Fiona

Subject: [Birding-Aus] RFI Field Guides South Africa

Hi all

Does anybody have any recommendations for a good portable Field Guide for
South African Birds ?

Is the Collins Field Guide "Birds of Southern Africa" as good as any ?

Thanks in advance

Dick
