This winter we did not see many Cattle Egrets along the Yarra in metropolitan Heidelberg. About a dozen or so were with agisted horses in Yarra Flats Park. Sometimes they visited Banyule Flats Reserve a mile or so upstream.

Hi all,

While looking for an article (on distance ornithology courses which I
couldn't find - isn't it always the way?) I came across an article in the
BOCA magazine for Oct 2009 about the possible decline in Cattle Egrets in
NSW. On checking I found that I have not seen one in Vic since September
2008. Has anyone seen any in Vic recently, especially if they were in any
good numbers.

Thanks

Jen
