LAUGHING GULL (10/12),BROAD-BILLED SANDPIPER. DOWITCHER (2) (13/12)

RED-RUMPED SWALLOW + BARN SWALLOW - Ota
9/12/09 - Somerset Rd, 2nd road on left after Newell Beach turnoff, North Mossman GLOSSY IBIS - Ota,6/12/09 - Cattana Wetlands opening day. Also a Black-shouldered Kite. COMMON SANDPIPER (3) - Darren Phillips,2/12/09 - Saltwater Creek, Centenary Lakes ORIENTAL CUCKOO (10+) - Ota,1/12/09 - Anderson St bush next to Cemetery/Ambulance station. Also juv Little Bronze and Brush cuckoos. (Ed. I have also seen Fantail Cuckoo recently)
GREAT-BILLED HERON- Brian Venables - 17:30 - 2/12/09 - Centenary Lakes
One bird at the Freshwater lake every day (morning and evening) with evidence of much activity. (scats and tracks). My opinion is, it is taking advantage of the abundant Tilapia in the lake.
