Gang-gang Cockatoos in Ryde, NSW

I observed a pair of Gang-gang Cockatoos in some eucalypts in the grounds of
Ryde Secondary College, adjacent to Buffalo Creek (about 12 km NW of the
Sydney CBD) yesterday morning. They were being mobbed by Noisy Miners.

The nearby Hornsby/Ku-ring-gai Population of Gang-gang Cockatoos is listed
as an Endangered Population under the NSW Threatened Species Conservation
Act, 1995 (TSC Act). Sulphur-crested Cockatoos, Yellow-tailed
Black-Cockatoos and Galahs are common around Ryde, and very occasionally
I've seen small numbers of Little Corellas, but this is the first time I've
seen Gang-gang Cockatoos in Ryde in the 6 years we've lived here.
