Hello everyone

For those like myself who struggle to get decent views of red-necked rails,
I am hearing some mighty strange stories from the Mission Beach area. The
birds have bred early this year, it seems, and some have become emboldened.
One tourist resort operator is reporting that the birds are coming inside
the resort's food storage area (inside a building). They are even doing
this while people are present - dashing in to grab something off the floor
and then scurrying out.

The source of this information knows the difference between a red-necked
rail and a buff-banded rail and has never seen them so emboldened before in
12 odd years at the resort.

Has anyone made similar observations of red-necked rail behaviour?

Regards
