Hello all,

There was a fascinating report in the Brisbane Courier Mail today about a Masked Owl found in Edward Street in the Brisbane CBD recently. It was apparantly being attacked by other birds and was rescued by authorities and is now in care. This is an amazing discovery of a bird that is rarely reported in the Brisbane area, let alone the CBD!

Interestingly the article went on to suggest that the bird may actually be from a possible family of Masked Owls in the Brisbane Botanical Gardens! I wondered if any local birders were aware of this and/or had seen these birds?

regards,

David Taylor
Brisbane
