For those of you interested in helping American birders ID this sandplover, get some help by going to http://sunbittern.com/id-sandplovers.html Local SEQ birder and Bribie Island/Pumicestone Passage habitee Trevor Ford has created a wonderful website of the region he knows so well, and has created a clear and practical ID guide aimed at distinguishing between Lesser and Greater Sandplovers. Check it out, remembering that Trevor's guide compares races in Australia, and the Virginian bird is posssibly(probably) of a different race.
        And I reckon it's a Greater.
