Good evening all
I have just returned from Scotia Sanctuary in
NSW, it is 104km north of Wentworth on the Silver City Hwy then about 50km
towards the South Australian border. We were only going to stay for a couple
of days but because of the weather down at Gluepot and the Mallee-Wimmera
District early last week the Australian Wildlife Conservancy which owns
Scotia allowed my crew of 3 to stay till last Friday. I would have to say
that it was one of the best trips that I have done in my short time as a
"Birdo" as I photographed 40 out of the 67 species that we saw. And also the
6 endangered Mammals in stage 1 ( we did not see the Greater Stick-nest Rat,
but we did see a couple of nests ) and the Mala was in another area. In the
daytime we saw both Bridled Nailtail Wallaby and Numbat and in the evening
Greater Bilby, Burrowing Bettong, and Brush-tailed Wallaby. I have the
Program of what we did as it may be of interest to some of you, so for
anyone who is interested please drop me a line and I will send it to you,
also I have put about a dozen photo's from the trip onto my website
http://barraimaging.com.au/index.php at this stage and will feed more over
the coming weeks. Regard's Geoff Jones
