Hello Birders,

Adrian Dick, who is not on the net, has told me that on 7/8 he saw 9 Plum-headed Finches near Lake Belvedere in Bicentennial Park at Homebush. He watched them for about 2 minutes feeding on the slope below the Tresillage, then they flew away across the small pond to the north of the concrete spillway at the northern end of Lake Belvedere. He is quite confident of the identification because he watched them through binoculars at ranges down to about 10 metres. Three of them were adult males. Adrian has had previous experience with PHFs (and with Nutmeg Mannikins, incidentally). Subsequent attempts to find the PHFs again have not met with success.
