Very nearly so, here in suburban Brisbane (which of course is not necessarily any indication of what happens out in the bush) but the magpies are even more human-tolerant: on our unsealed footpaths a magpie will walk to one side as I go past, but usually not fly. Butcherbirds, Magpie-larks, Crested Pigeons, and of course, Crows, all fly.
