Hi Frank,

Nice trip report. Thanks.

I was there in July for 5 days on the way home from North Sumatra. I cant
believe I stayed at the end of JL Batubelig and didn't find the river until
the last day!!

Good news is that we stayed at the BaliSani suites on the beach at Batubelig
and the Savannah Nightjars were active, hawking and calling every evening
and morning!! Quite noisy actually. At one stage I had 5 sitting on the
beach in the hotel flood light. So they are still around despite the
building.

I am back in November so I am now planning to connect with Su again and do
some of the central locations you mentioned. I must also head to Nusa
Penida. BALI STARLING - Good news on that front!!

Cheers

Hi All,

I returned in mid June from a 9 day holiday in Bali, not all birding but a
fair
bit. I managed to do two day trips with Sumadi Wayan as a guide: one to
Batukaru and the other to the area around Bedugul. I also stayed a few
nights
on Nusa Lembongan, and spent the best part of a day on Nusa Penida. It was

here that I saw free flying Bali Starlings in the fairly recently
established
population. This was a major trip highlight.

I've written a trip report and posted it on Surfbirds at
http://www.surfbirds.com/trip_report.php?id=1669 if anyone is interested,
but
can also supply a word format document if anyone would like. Cheers,

frank
