Joe Fontaine (birding friend working in Perth) and I birded from Perth to
Albany and back.

13/7

At Cheynes Caravan Park east of Albany, we found 6 NOISY SCRUB-BIRDS and saw 2
of them. We also heard 2 WESTERN BRISTLEBIRDS (only saw 1) and heard a WESTERN
WHIPBIRD. All this was within 5 minutes walk of the park. In the bay, there
were 30+ Humpback Whales putting on quite a migration show.

Further west, at Two People Bay, we heard 2 NOISY SCRUB-BIRDS & 1 WESTERN
WHIPBIRD from the carpark. A short seawatch produced YELLOW-NOSED &
BLACK-BROWED ALBATROSS, multiple GREAT-WINGED PETRELS and 1 BROWN SKUA that
came in to chase gannets.

14/7

Another seawatch from the "Gap" south of Albany produced more albatross and 2
SOUTHERN? GIANT-PETRELS.

15/7

A LITTLE EAGLE was in Stirling Range NP at the Stirling Range Retreat.

A number of WESTERN THORNBILLS were at Barna Mia in Dryandra Woodland near
Narrogin.

Good birding,
