Hi All,
Firstly, thank you so much for ALL of the responses I got to my query regarding
Tiri Tiri. I probably won't get a chance to respond to all your posts
independently so please take this email as a blanket sign of gratitude for all
your tips and advice.
It appears that there are a few constants in your responses being:
1. That Gregory the Takahe is quite a tame and becoming little fellow with his
numerous leg rings and flags. It seems that head shots of him might be the
Pics Du Jour :-)
2. That booking in advance is probably required - thanks for that tip.
3. That September is maybe not such a great time for pelagics in Hauraki even
if the sea/coastline is spectacular and probably worth the day out.
4. That Kokakos are (and yes I DID mean Kokako NOT Kakapo) sometimes easy,
sometimes hard to find on the island. I will check the spots mentioned. Even
to hear one of them calling would be a treat in itself.
5. That the island can be overrun with crowds. I wonder how bad this would be
in September?
Anyway, thanks again for your responses. They have greatly assisted us with
our planning for the trip.
