Yes, that's the right creek. www.street-directory.com.au is a good site for 
maps of such areas - it uses the Melways that we all use down here.

I checked for the hudwit twice on Saturday, once on Sunday and once briefly 
today, at varying tide levels, without any luck.  If you want to check the site 
quickly, park at the end of Maidstone St so you don't have to do any walking. 
The creek mouth is a few hundred metres to the west of there.

For a more thorough check, park beside Queen St, just before the fenced area 
(ex munition dump) and walk straight across the grass. You'll then be opposite 
the high tide roost at the creek mouth.
