Hi Barry,

I've certainly seen flocks of Fan-tailed Cuckoos at this time of year, and
heard reports of large flocks (up to 50) of Channel-billed Cuckoos.  I would
say a combination of abundant food and pre-migration gathering is the likely
reason you're seeing a flock.
